MT4 Platform Overview for Ugandan Traders

MetaTrader 4 is the core trading software we provide at FBS for forex and CFD trading. We operate under FBS Markets Inc., regulated by the Financial Services Commission in Belize, ensuring secure and transparent trading conditions. Available account types include Standard and Islamic, both supporting leverage up to 1:3000 and minimum deposits starting at UGX 11,000 via mobile money. Currency pairs include USD/UGX, EUR/USD, GBP/USD, and several African crosses.

Account Registration Process

Opening an account with FBS in Uganda begins by visiting www.fbs.com and selecting “Open Account.” Complete the registration form with your full name, email, and choose “Register as Trader.” Upon submission, a verification email will be sent. Confirm your email within 24 hours to activate your trader dashboard.

Personal Information Requirements

Provide your legal name exactly as on your government ID, your date of birth, and Ugandan residence details. Include your phone number starting with Uganda’s +256 country code. Accurate data ensures compliance with financial regulations and smooth fund transactions.

Password and Security Setup

Create a secure password of at least eight characters, mixing uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols. After registration, enable two-factor authentication via SMS or authenticator apps for added protection.

Identity Verification Requirements

To comply with anti-money laundering laws, Ugandan traders must verify their identity within seven days of registration. Upload clear images of your national ID, passport, or driving license. Files must be in JPG, PNG, HEIC, WEBP, or PDF format, not exceeding 50MB each.

Address Verification Process

Submit recent documents proving your address, such as utility bills or bank statements dated within the last three months. The address on these documents must match your registered information.

Phone Number Confirmation

Use our automated SMS system to verify your mobile phone. Enter the six-digit code sent to your number starting with +256, supporting MTN, Airtel, and Africell networks. This step enables important notifications and account security alerts.

MT4 Platform Download and Installation

After account verification, download the MT4 platform from your FBS dashboard. We offer versions for Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS, each optimized for its operating system. Installation requires approximately 25-50MB of storage and completes within minutes.

Desktop Installation Steps

Run the downloaded installer as administrator, accept the license, and select the default directory for smooth setup. The installer configures system files and creates shortcuts automatically. Launch MT4 and log in using your FBS credentials.

Mobile App Setup

Download the MetaTrader 4 app from Google Play or Apple App Store. Open the app, add an account, search for “FBS Markets Inc” server, and enter your account number and password. The app supports Android 4.0+ and iOS 9.0+ devices.

Deposit Methods and Processing

We facilitate deposits tailored for Ugandan traders using mobile money (MTN, Airtel), international cards, and cryptocurrencies. Mobile money deposits start at UGX 11,000 with a 3.5% fee. Card deposits are instant and commission-free, with a minimum equivalent of €6.

Mobile Money Transactions

Select mobile money in your FBS dashboard, enter your phone number and deposit amount, and follow SMS instructions to complete the transaction. Funds appear in your trading account within 15-20 minutes.

International Card Payments

Enter Visa or Mastercard details and complete 3D Secure authentication when prompted. Deposits process instantly, subject to bank approval. Failed payments usually relate to insufficient funds or card restrictions.

Open the “New Order” window (F9 or mobile “+”), select your symbol, enter lot size, and choose “Buy” or “Sell.” Confirm details including margin and spread before clicking to execute.

Pending Order Management

Set Buy Limit, Sell Limit, Buy Stop, or Sell Stop orders with target prices. Define expiration dates or keep orders active until canceled (Good Till Cancelled). Track all orders in the “Trade” tab.

Risk Management and Account Protection

Proper risk management is essential for preserving capital. Limit risk per trade to 2% of your balance and always use stop-loss orders. Our platform automatically executes stop-losses at the best available price, though slippage may occur during volatile periods.
